New Pre-Trial Conference Date Set for Code Enforcement Officer

(Las Animas, CO) -- The Wheels of Justice turn slowly or so it seems as moving forward for Greg Champney. The Las Animas Code Enforcement officer now must wait until September for another day in court.

Champney is accused of setting the Ft. Lyon fire from April 12th, 2022.

Champney was set for a pre-trial conference Monday in district court in Bent County. Champney's attorney Kyle McCarthy requested more time as he stated he would like the District Attorney's office to review some critical pieces of information.

Judge Jon Kolomitz was presiding in court in Judge Mark MacDonnell's absence.
