No Livestreaming of Criminal Court to Affect Dunagan Hearing

If you cannot attend in person but were hoping to be able to watch Las Animas Officer Thomas Dunagan’s court hearing, you might be out of luck. 

Under a directive 26-01 from the state Chief Justice, there’s been a pause on allowing the livestreaming of criminal court proceedings in state trial courts.  This went into effect just last week, September 15^th, 2026 and will stay in effect until December. 

According to the document and executive order the decision to temporarily stop live streaming is due to misuse of livestreamed content and disruptions that possible would not allow for the fair administration of justice.  The 90 suspension is statewide and while the public won’t be able to livestream, they are still welcome to attend a hearing in person.
