Name Released in Highway 50 Fatality

(Las Animas, CO) -- The identity of the driver who died in a highway 50 rollover crash Friday is being released.

Bent County Sheriff Jake Six reports that 42 year old Bent County resident Ryan Davis died when the semi he was driving rolled onto its side in Las Animas. It happened before noon at the curve in the highway. The load Davis was carrying in the truck was reported to be pellet cattle feed or cake. The report taken by the deputy on scene states that Davis' truck was registered to WW Feed in La Junta.

Sheriff Six states the cause of the accident is not yet known and an investigation is on-going. It's not known if Friday's high winds contributed to the crash. Colorado State Patrol, Las Animas Fire and the Bent County Emergency Management assisted on scene Friday as the highway was closed both directions at the crash site.

There was a juvenile in the truck with Davis at the time who survived, whose name is not being released.
