Just a Little More Work Needed

(La Junta, CO) -- When it was decided the Otero County Courthouse building needed a single entry point last year, a construction company was selected and the work began.

In Monday's county commissioner meeting, it was determined that more work would be needed with sealing and restriping the north and south parking lots.

It is expected to cost the county an extra, $13,915 for the work. The total cost of the project is $892,891. The total project includes the court remodel to add a room for the magistrate and the addition. Amy White Tanabe with the county says despite the contract modification approved at Monday's meeting, they're still under budget.

The change amendment that commissioners approved is copied here:

County commissioner meetings in all counties are always open to the public and you may comment or ask questions in the public comment section of the meeting. Otero has a zoom option and Bent county has a call in option to participate in local government.
