Otero County Needs Help to Locate Suspect

The following is a news release from Otero County Sheriff Shawn Mobley


(Manzanola, CO) – On April 9th, 2022, the Otero County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an unwanted person near the intersection of County Road JJ and County Road 11. Upon arrival, the responding deputy located a stolen vehicle out of Pueblo. The vehicle fled upon contact, and a pursuit ensued. The stolen vehicle struck a total of three vehicles and came to rest in a plowed field southeast of Manzanola. The suspect fled on foot to a nearby residence and stole a truck. The suspect then fled westbound on Highway 50 and was able to elude law enforcement.

After the pursuit, a victim came forward and law enforcement determined that additional crimes were committed and kidnapping charges were appropriate. The suspect has been identified as Isaiahs “Zai” Flores. Flores is currently on parole and has a felony warrant in this case. Although a warrant was issued, the suspect is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
