The Otero County 4-H Shooting Sports Contest was held July 7th & 8th at the La Junta Rifle Club, in La Junta. All events were held except the Shotgun – Sporting Clays and that event will take place on July 15th, with those results coming upon the completion of that event. The top six placings in all the events qualify for State Fair, except Shotgun and the top five placings qualify. This year’s State Shoot will be held the weekend of August 19 & 20, with the .22 Rifle, Archery, Air Rifle, Air Pistol, and Muzzleloading. These events will be held in the Pueblo and Rye areas. The weekend of September 3 & 4th the Shotgun and .22 Pistol events, held in the Colorado Springs area.
