Eastern Colorado Sheriff Busts Large Illegal Grow

(Kit Carson, CO) -- One person is behind bars after the Kit Carson Sheriff Office busts a large illegal marijuana grow near Flagler. Sheriff Travis Belden reports in a news release they were able to seize 151 plants which is close to 2,000 pound of product. With the help of Lincoln County, Washington County and the Colorado State Patrol, the search warrant was executed yesterday, June 16th on the property.





Sheriff Belden explained that the investigation was many months long and that Undersheriff Jones was a big part of it. Warning the community not to jump to comment about this not being a big problem, Belden explained these grows lead to bigger drug operations, often times involving Fentanyl distribution. Sheriff Belden took to social media to explain this sort of criminal activity would not be tolerated in his county.
