Stump faces two counts of second degree attempted murder and one count of assault with a deadly weapon. That was presented in a preliminary hearing in April of 2021, one year after the shooting.
Undersheriff Tracy Weisenhorn was with Stump on the traffic stop but was not charged because it was determined that she had not done a pat down and could have believed that Gifford had a weapon.
The jury trial starts Thursday, January 20th, in Eads, Colorado at the Kiowa County district courtroom at 8 am.
