Recognizing Manufacturing in the US

It's officially Manufacturing Week according to the United States Census Bureau. But what does that mean?


According to the website, census.gov, Manufacturing Week is a celebration by the U.S. Census Bureau that expands upon the traditional Manufacturing Day launched by the Manufacturing Institute in 2011 on the first Friday of October.

If you visit this site, you will find stats, data, data tools, and training resources. There are many free videos and training you can access. If you work in a manufacturing industry or have a small business, this might be good to file away and have.


While the U. S Census Bureau has only been recognizing manufacturing in the United States since 2011, it's been the backbone of small and large communities since the late 1800s during the Industrial Revolution. We've been making things with our hands, and machines since then.
