Plea Sentencing Set Following Pre-Sentence Investigation in the Death of a Las Animas Woman

This week, a local family in Las Animas hopes to get some closure, also some justice.

A plea hearing is scheduled for Thursday, July 9th at 2:30 pm in Las Animas for Tina Tallman, who asked, along with her attorney, for a pre-sentence investigated to be completed. Her hearing was postponed until this week, for that reason.

Tallman faces the sentence for the death of Susie Martinez who died when she was struck by a car on Highway 50 and Elm last December.

The family and others close to the victim are expected to be in court Thursday to read their victim impact statements.

The hearing is open to the public. If you go, expect to leave your phone in the car.
