Investigation Ongoing After Pueblo Bomb Squad is Called to Help Bent County Sheriff

Sheriff Jake Six told Colorado News Your Way that 40 year old Grant Dorman was taken into custody. He will be charged with possession of an incendiary device.

Bent County Deputies, along with Colorado State Patrol closed a portion of Highway 50 near Grand Avenue Sunday morning for what Sheriff Jake Six described as a law enforcement incident.


Several deputies were noted deploying to the street with AR 15s, others doing traffic control while law enforcement figured out what was going on. East bound traffic into Las Animas was stopped while law enforcement secured the scene. Sheriff Six confirmed to Colorado News Your Way that Pueblo Bomb Units had been requested and were deploying to help out.

At 2:32 PM, Sunday, Six told us the scene was secure but the area would be closed to finish the investigation. At 3:15 PM, Six reported that the highway was now open.


Six could not confirm that a bomb was discovered only stated that law enforcement was involved in an active investigation at the scene.
