Daytime Meetings are Hard to Attend When You Work, Here's How to Stay Informed

You might've said it before, you'd like to know what's going on in Bent County, but you work and attending the regularly scheduled daytime meetings is tough. There's an option to join LIVE through zoom and the link is provided here. Just click on the day of the meeting and you'll be taken to the option to join, also you will find the meeting agenda here.


You can catch up on what you might've missed from recent and past meetings of the Bent County Commissioners. The video recording of the meeting has been an option for many months now, and the meeting minutes in written form are also available.

At the most recent meeting, the items for action were listed:



  • Consider ratifying Alan Stump, Chair’s signature on the July VSO report.

  • Consider approval of and authorize the commissioners to sign Building Permit #0726-BP-03 for Jefry Mumford at 31243 County Road LL, McClave.

  • Consider appointing one person to the Bent County HealthCare Center board.

  • Consider approval and authorize Alan Stump, Chair, to sign a Renewal Agreement with CivicPlus for PDF Services.

  • Consider approval of a Management Representation Letter for Blair & Associates P.C. to represent Bent County Department of Human Services.

  • Consider approval of Audit Report from Blair & Associates P.C. for Bent County Department of Human Services.

  • Consider approval of and authorization for Commissioner’s signatures on the Certification of Funds for Social Services totaling $19,204.73 for July.

  • Consider approval for the Bent County Ambulance Service to submit a Grant Application for RETAC Funds.

  • Consider approval for the Hasty/McClave Fire Protection District to submit a Grant Application for RETAC Funds.

  • Consider approval of a Purchase order in the amount of $7,239.70 for Emergency Management to purchase Rapid Tags.

  • Consider approval for the Sheriff’s office to purchase and install emergency equipment in a 2026 Ford F-150 in the amount of $10,049.48.

  • Consider approval of CICJIS Participation Agreement between the Criminal Justice Information System and Bent County Sheriff.

  • Consider approval of an Agreement between SoCO Medical Direction PLLC, and Bent County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch.


If you want to speak with commissioners on any topic or issue you can have three minutes at the end of the meeting, you must give your name and the county in which you live.


The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Bent County Commissioners is set for Thursday, August 27th at 9am.


Other county commissioner boards also, by law, make their meetings open to the public, the only exception is when they must go into executive sessions where legal and personnel issues are discussed.
