Bent County Resident Anne Boswell Announces Candidacy for Bent County Clerk and Recorder

(Bent County, CO) -- Anne Boswell has announced her candidacy for Bent County Clerk and Recorder, seeking the office as a Republican and pledging a strong focus on customer communication, customer service, transparency, and community engagement.

Boswell brings more than 25 years of professional experience in media, public relations and engagement, education, and customer service. Her background includes three and a half years working as a news anchor, reporter, and talk show host for AM 1400 KBLJ in La Junta, where she covered local government, elections, and community issues while engaging directly with residents across the Arkansas Valley.  Boswell has won several awards of Excellence with the Colorado Broadcasters Association with Best Regularly Scheduled News and Best News/Talk Show in the state of Colorado.  She hopes to transfer and utilize her communication skills with the public to elevate the Bent County Clerk and Recorder’s office.

Boswell has also worked for Southeast Colorado Power Association, a not-for-profit rural electric cooperative serving Bent County.  Her time with the cooperative was spent interacting with member consumers to educate on programs such as rebates, providing support on electrical safety presentations to local schools, and collaborating with neighboring electric cooperatives to bring news and information to member consumers concerning energy efficiency and money saving incentives.

If elected, Boswell says she will prioritize efficient operations, public trust in elections, and responsive service for residents interacting with the Clerk and Recorder’s office. She emphasizes her background in communication and public-facing roles as key strengths she would bring to the position.  Boswell would also like to move toward getting Bent County citizens the ability to do more on-line with the Clerk and Recorder’s office.
