Armed male arrested on numerous charges

Armed male arrested on numerous charges.

Rocky Ford, Colo. – August 4th, 2026 – at about 3:28 A.M., a Rocky Ford Police Officer and an Otero County Sheriff’s Deputy contacted Miguel Sandoval (47) at the Arkansas Valley Fairgrounds. Sandoval had 4 active arrest warrants out of Crowley County and 3 active arrest warrants out of Otero County.

Sandoval resisted arrest and was taken into custody after a brief struggle. Sandoval was armed with two pistols and possessed 4 grams of methamphetamine.

Sandoval was booked into the Otero County Jail on his 7 warrants, and charges of: Special Offender, Unlawful Carrying a Concealed Weapon (X2) and possession of 4 grams or more of methamphetamine.

Sandoval is innocent until proven guilty in court.
