The following is a news release written by the CBI
April 10, 2023-CBI-North La Junta, Colo—The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been requested to assist with a death investigation in Otero County.
On Thursday, April 6, 2023, at approximately 6:39 p.m., The Otero County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) was notified of an unresponsive person in the 400 block of Ash Avenue in North La Junta.
OCSO and EMS responded. Efforts to revive this person were unsuccessful. The person was pronounced deceased on scene.
The cause of death is still under investigation. Updates and additional information will be released as they become available.
